We’re dedicated to helping people get into the great outdoors. But unfortunately, anytime you manufacture something it inevitably has an impact on the environment. Thankfully, we can do something about that. Our primary objective is reduction. Because let's face it, it’s much easier to clean up after yourself when you’re not messy in the first place. And then what we can't reduce, we off-set.

It’s all part of our total commitment to becoming a smarter, greener business. This way, when you buy a rack from us, it's something we can both feel good about.

HERE'S HOW WE CAN REDUCE WHAT WE CAN

• We use between 65% - 85% post consumer recycled content and water-based inks in all packaging
• We refuse to use white cardboard, which contaminates water processing facilities with chlorine
• We use a minimum of 30% FSR certified recycled paper in all printed materials
• We reduced our fossil fuel consumption by 40,000 gallons last year alone through the opening of our new Western USA distribution center
• Yakima cargo boxes are made from 80% recycled ABS plastic
• Steel and plastic parts on all of our hitch products are 100% recyclable
• We recycle all plastic factory scrap - onsite - resulting in zero downstream waste and 20% recycled content in all plastic part

HERE'S HOW WE OFFSET WHAT WE CAN'T REDUCE

We've partnered with carbonfund.org to calculate the cost of our remaining footprint and then donate however much it takes to offset it. Every nickel we give goes towards Green-e and ERT certified carbon reducing projects, like reforestation efforts and the development of solar power and wind energy. It's our little way of helping pave the road to a greener future.
